Photos: Exhibition opening/book launch at Øksnehallen, Copenhagen
We have literally been too busy to keep you posted on all platforms lately. But don’t you worry, everything is just fine. Here’s a short list of recent news:
1) Our Kickstarter campaign was a huge succes. We were funded some 120% and the books are now real and available for purchase. (we cheated a bit and started the printers before the campaign was over). Place your order here if you’d like a copy (photos of the book coming soon).
2) The exhibition at Øksnehallen is up, and we already launched the thing on June 11. The combined vernissage/book launch was a great evening with loads of guests and beers. The exhibition will be open until July 29. For opening times and more info click here.
3) We are currently working on producing the last rewards for our backers on Kickstarter. We are hoping to ship our everything during week 28. Estimated delivery is still by the end of July.
That’s it for now. We will try to keep this page updated the following weeks as well, but if you want news and pictures on the go, please follow on Facebook and Instagram.
We are thrilled to announce that our debut exhibition outside Greenland will be at Øksnehallen in the heart of the lively old meat district in the centre of Copenhagen. In collaboration with Copenhagen Photo Festival 2015 our work will be presented in a 500m2 solo exhibition next to an exhibition showing work from the recently published The Nordic Book by Søren Rønholt on one side while just across the street Fotografisk Center will show a retrospective on the Danish photographer/superhero Jette Bang, whose work from Greenland is a great inspiration to us.

At the moment our preexisting exhibition is on its way from Greenland to Denmark. In the meantime we are working hard to create a renewed version of the show that, without spoiling anything, will show hitherto unpublished work and maybe even an all new publication.
In any way we encourage you save the date! The vernissage will be on June 11 around 5pm. We’ll provide booze, music and photographs. You bring the good mood.
Last chance to catch Chapter #1 at Katuaq (and Recent Press)
Two days left to see the exhibition at Katuaq in Nuuk, so hurry up and tell your friends while you are at it! We had a lovely time installing the exhibition a couple a weeks ago, and we are both really looking forward to visiting Nuuk again. Below are a couple links to the recent press we have had and on top of this is an interview with national Greenlandic broadcasting company KNR (In Greenlandic with Danish subtitles).
Meanwhile, we are working hard on the official Denmark debut exhibition that will take place during Copenhagen Photo Festival 2015 in June. Stay tuned for details. They are going to be real nice.
Chapter I - Upernavik & Sisimiut at Katuaq in Nuuk, Greenland
It has been a great week here in Nuuk. Today we held our exhibition opening in absolutely stunning surroundings at Katuaq the Greenland Cultural Centre. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. The exhibition will be open until March 29. Takuss!
Earlier this week our work traveled on from Ilulissat to Nuuk, where our third and final exhibition in Greenland will be opening at Katuaq on Thursday the 12th. We are heading North tomorrow morning to install the works and take part at the vernissage. Hope to see you there.
Our greatest gratitude goes out to everyone who came to see the exhibition in Ilulissat and especially to the fine people from Ilulissat Art Museum, who have treated us very nice.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the vernissage at Ilulissat Art Museum during Culture Night this Saturday. Museum director Ole Gamst-Pedersen sent us these photos and added that more than 250 people attended the opening (why he didn’t have time to shoot more than this). We will post some highres installation shots later.
We will be part of the national Greenlandic Night of Culture as the Inuit.nu #1 exhibition will be opening tomorrow on January 24 at Ilulissat Art Museum. Vernissage is from 7 to 9pm. Free entrance for all. Weehoo!
After months of working on the project we had the pleasure of opening the exhibition of chapter one at Taseralik in Sisimiut yesterday. We are really happy with the results and would like to thank everyone who were there last night. Here’s a snippets from a surprising and very flattering opening speach by managing director at Taseralik Arnajaraq Støvlbæk:
“Not everyone in Greenland knows about the prestige of receiving a prize at the Danish press photography of the year, or for that matter that a photograph can be something very special that might change people’s conception of things. That is why I think it is exciting to hear the hournest reactions of ordinary people in Sisimiut to your project. Most people in Sisimiut don’t know you nor your previous work, but when we google you we find quite a few things that are far from our reality. The reality that is our “now”.
It is this “now”, the present time, that shines through your photographs. A “now” like that of the images from Jette Bang in the early 40ies and 50ies. It is like the world is frozen in a split second and we see an imprint of very normal everyday of the reality that we know of.”
A big thank you to Arnajaraq and the rest of Taseralik including Paarnaq, Nuka and HP for their support during installation. The exhibition will be on view at Taseralik until January 4, 2015.
Inuit.nu is officially up and running just in time for the opening of our first exhibition at Taseralik in Sisimiut, Greenland. We have lots of news for you guys, but right now we need to get ready for the vernissage. So for now: Welcome!
